Harran
Harran is a picturesque town of distinctive beehive shaped houses. One of the oldest continuously inhabited spots on earth, Harran is famous as a centre of worship of the god of the moon, of the sun and planets. Besides the gates and city walls the most impressive of the ruins is the Ulu Cami whose minaret is over 33 metres in height. On the side of the hill is the fortress, in the midst of the beehive houses.
