The westernmost monument at Pagan Mingala Zedi, the “Auspicious Pagoda” (number 1439) is considered the last large stupa to built at Pagan, and one of the most impressive. Built on a square plan and set within a raised platform, the lower four terraces have kalasa obelisks rather than the standard subsidiary stupa or sikhara motif on the corners. The red brick bell-shaped finial has been recentely restored. Steep flight of stairs on each side climb the terraces all lined with remarkably well-preserved glazed Jataka plaques. From the uppermost terrace the view encompasses numerous small red brick shrines of varying shapes and sizes till Thatbyinnyu and Ananda and other monuments lying to the east.

Just in front of the Mingala Zedi crossing the road and walking on the otherside on a dirty track you easily reach the Gubyauknge (monument nr 1391), inside enclosure walls this old temple has some beautiful stucco works on the pediment over the entrance porches (blocked). Nearby there is a cluster of other red brick temples.

The Gubyaukgyi at Myinkaba, the “Great Variegated” is a cave temple in Indian style. The monument consists of an antechamber attached to a large shrine room. Some stuccoworks on its exterior walls are in good condition. Typical of the Mon style the interiors are dimly lit by perforated stone windows. Of particular interest are the mural paintings inside, thought to be the oldest in Bagan, but so gloomy it is the inside that the paintings are not much visible.
Next to the Gubyaukgyi stands the gilded Myazedi or 'Emerald Stupa'.

Abeyadana temple is a building with a large porch in the North side. Like Gubyaukgyi it has perforated windows on the walls of the main block that dimly light the inside. The roof is composed of receding terraces topped by a bell shaped stupa, minor stupas of the same shape stand at each corner of the first terrace.
Paintings are the true treasure of this temple, depicting one of the earliest images of the Ramayana found in Myanmar showing Rama riding on Hanuman. Other figures include bodhi-sattvas showing a Mahayana influences. Most of the many Buddha niches lining the walls are empty.
